Am Tierpark – “April Fool’s” EP

AM Tierpark – Claus Larsen and John Mirland

Today we step back into the world of ebm/synthpop.  Here we have an EP of covers by Am Tierpark; a side project of Claus Larsen (aka Leaether Strip) and John Mirland.

Immediately my attention was given after taking note that they included a Judas Priest cover from my favorite Priest album.

April Fool’s is a really fun, danceable EP and is a great introduction to AM Tierpark.  The music is no-frills synth-pop, straight and to the point; not a lot of over-layering or too many bells and whistles.  It is what it is; a great and fun EP; stellar production I might add as well.

If you are a fan of Leaether Strip, you pretty much already know that Claus can do no wrong.  If you have yet to hear John Mirland’s solo work, here is your introduction.  Now go check out his material.  If you aren’t familiar with either of these gentlemen, well…shame on you.  Now you are.  But if you already listen to the likes of Kraftwerk, Pet-Shop Boys, early Depeche Mode and New Order, you’ll love this and every song on it.

The stand-out tracks for me were Turbo Lover and Flesh for Fantasy.  Go support these guys and check out their individual work as well.  Their take on these tracks have their own stamp on it while respecting the original composition.

April Fool’s is out (You guessed it) on April 1 via digital download and is available for pre-order now.
