Prospekt Bol’shevikov & Yёrg – “Split” EP Review (noise/harsh noise/power electronics)

a1353204338_16Often the most potent and abrasive come in short doses.  Likewise, in cases such as this, the reviews are appropriately shorter.  As such, we give you the split digital-only EP from Prospekt Bol’shevikov & Yёrg.

Each artist is given 2 tracks.  Only in the case of track 1 from Prospekt Bol’shevikov do the tracks go over 2 minutes in length.  (2:42 specifically in that case).  Each of the artists are stylistically very different with Prospekt Bol’shevikov focusing on some of the most cut-up style harsh noise you’ve heard in some time and Yёrg constructing nihilistic cyber-driven, bass-heavy noise cuts.  Yёrg even graces them with the voice of the late Vincent Price.  No composition, no time signature… just pure cyber-driven chaos.  Prospekt Bol’shevikov seems to incorporate found sounds or samples although it cannot be discerned if they are natural or manipulated samples.

This EP is a balance between the analog and digital and the organic and the manipulated… for people who like their noise diverse and short and to the point.

The split EP is available on Bandcamp from our friends at Wall Noise Action.
